Better news

We have a hospital date for Neal's heart!  It won't be surgery choice A because Neal has too many complications and can't be choice B because he doesn't fit the protocol, and the FDA still controls who receives the experimental procedure.  But Dr L carefully explained as much as he could and then told Neal about a temporary fix that could improve Neal's blood flow (currently under 20% of normal), enough that he might be able to have surgery A or B later.  Neal thought that sounded like a good option, and Dr L said, "With your complications, that is your ONLY option."  So Neal will be in the hospital before the end of the month!
The next morning was our trip to the wound clinic to evaluate how the wound was doing after ten days without the wound vacuum.  They always take about 7 or 8 specific measurements (width, depth, tunnels), and this time all but one were smaller!  Happy dance!  They are so very pleased about the progress, said the tissue looks "beautiful" and told me to continue what we're doing - protein drinks, amino acid drinks, special diet, daily wound care, etc.  I'm so relieved about the results; it makes the details worth the effort.
We're still waiting on appointments about Neal's hand and my heart, but with two major hurdles off the list we are very grateful.  Prayers are answered.

Sorry to hear about all of the complications - I know prayer does help.
